Here's our Budget Trip Tip Itinerary:
From HK to Macau we took the Turbo Jet : By MTR- MTR (from either TST/JORDAN/MONGKOK) -> Admiralty (interchange to Sheung Wan Line) -> Sheung Wan MTR Exit D (3rd Flr Shun Tak centre)
1. Fisherman's Warf- From the Ferry terminal exit, walk to your left. Do not cross the road because Fisherman's Warf is just a 5-10 minute walk from the terminal to your left side. 2. Senado Square (St. Paul ruins)- From Fisherman's warf, go back to the ferry terminal and go to the bus stop (forgot which bus number to take...will post later). 3. Venetian Hotel- From Senado Square go back to where the bus dropped you off and take the same bus number you took. It'll take you back to the ferry terminal. From there, take the foot bridge to cross the other side. There you will see hotel shuttle buses that are for free (walang bayad ang sakay dito). Take the one that goes to Venetian. 4. Casino Hotel hopping- From Venetian, ride the free shuttle going back to the ferry terminal. There you will hop in another shuttle bus of your choice depending on which casino you'd like to check out first- MGM Grand, Wyn, Grand Lisboa etc. Each Casino has its own highlights like that of with Wyn Hotel which has its magnificent dancing fountain that will make you drool over its lights and effects. Sobrang ganda! 5. From the Casino Hotels you can take any of the free shuttle ride back to the ferry terminal.
Tip: Senado Square is nice during day time. Better do your casino hopping at night as this is when you will enjoy the fantabulous lights of Macau!
HONGKONG TO MACAU RIDE: Option 1: TST China Ferry Terminal (New World First Ferry): 33 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.
Option 2: Sheung Wan Ferry Terminal (Turbojet and Cotai Jet) - Faster boats
By MTR: MTR (from either TST/JORDAN/MONGKOK) -> Admiralty (interchange to Sheung Wan Line) -> Sheung Wan MTR Exit D (3rd Flr Shun Tak centre)
By MTR: MTR (from either CAUSEWAY BAY/WANCHAI) -> Sheung Wan MTR Exit D (3rd Flr Shun Tak centre)
Option 3: Direct from HKIA skypier (Transit to Macau): HKIA ferry transfer desk
|
| | We spent our entire day in Disneyland. Got the discounted tickets from Traveleasy at Worldwide Central's station for only 265HKD.
Tip: As soon as you get your discounted Disney tickets from Worldwide, take the subway from Central station and ride the train that goes to Tung Chung as this goes straight to Sunny Bay which takes you to the Disneyland Resort line.
If you're coming from Monkong, TST, Yau Ma Tei, or Jordan, the easiest and most convenient way to go to Disneyland is to take the MTR (subway). From any of the above mentioned stations, get off Lai King, interchange station to Sunny Bay and ride the Disney Resort Train.
Budget your time wisely so you can watch all the shows, especially The Lion King.

This is the MTR train station map . You would see the same map inside the train. This helps the passengers know which station is the next stop, aside from the voice recording that you'll here before getting off the train. Grabe ang sarap sumakay dito.
Download this and other original video files with Multiply Premium. HKIA AIRPORT TIP We arrived HKIA at 10AM. First thing we did was to get an Octopus Card from the Cusmer Service area infront of Burger King and Cafe de Coral. An Octopus Card can be used in riding the bus, MTR, Star ferry, getting a meal from Mcdo or buy from 7/11 stores. You can buy the card for 50HKD and get an initial load of 100HKD. You pay a total amount of 150HKD which goes a long way, for as long as you know how to use your Octopus card wisely. What's nice about the Octopus Card is that even if shos a negative sign, there's nothing to worry about, because you still paid for the fare. But you can only go as low as -35 HKD. Hwag naman abusado! Another thing to make sure that you get a map and all the brochures that's available in the airport. For the first timers, importante ang MAP especailly for those DIY trips.
HOTEL ACCOMODATION We took the A21 bus on our way to the hotel at YMCA International House in Yau Ma Tei. We were charged 33HKD each in our Octopus Card. For the hotel, we paid 1,485HKD for a 3N4D stay. If I were to rate the hotel, I'd give it a 4/5. It's location is perfect! 2 min walk to the nearest MTR subway station (Yau Ma Tei). There's a 7/11 near the back entrance, a spa/massage, money changer, chinese resto, bakery and a sari-sari store. Yes! There's a sari-sari store. It's also mear Yoshinoya, Mcdo and KFC. Kung medjo praning ka at gusto mo un may malapit na hospital, it's just a 10 minute walk away! They clean the room everyday, change the towels, fill-in the coffee and tea trays, and new sets of toiletries. Their staff can understand and speak English fairly well, except the accent!
1st Day A. The Peak Price: (I'll post the rate later... I forgot na eh. I have to look for the receipt) Directions: MTR- From Central Station, go to J2 exit. Turn right through Chater Garden, cross Queen's Rd, make your way up to Garden Rd. You will pass by Bank of China, Citibank Plaza and St. John Cathedral. Tip: Don't buy souveniers @ The Peak. A bit expensive compared to those sold in Mongkok and TST.
Expenses: MTR from TST to Admiralty - HKD 7.7 (charged to Octopus card) Bus 12 A - HKD 4.3 (charged to Octopus card) MTR from Central to Sheung Wan - HKD 3.6 (charged to Octopus card) Economy class, Turbojet to Macau - HKD 146 B. Avenue Of Stars- You can watch the Symphony of Lights from there. There's a big Starbucks in front of the Vicoria Harbor that has a very nice view of the bay. Price: Free. Walang Bayad dito. Directions: MTR- Go to TST (Tsim Sha Tsui) I forgot which exit to take. Just follow the signs
2nd Day A. DISNEYLAND- Opens @ 10AM Price: Adult 295HKD (Regular Day); 350HKD (Peak Day); 350HKD (Special Day) Child 210HKD (Regular Day); 250HKD (Peak Day); 250HKD (Special Day) Senior 170HKD (Regular Day); 200HKD (Peak Day); 200HKD (Special Day)
Direction: MTR- Get off Lai King, inter change station going to Sunny Bay Tip: Kumaen na kayo before you go there. Most Restos opens at 11:30AM.
B. City Walk in Mongkok and Yau Ma Tei Tip: Don't expect too much in Mongkok. Mas gusto ko pa mag shopping sa Divisoria, mas madame magagandang items, mura pa. My favorite shop lang dun is Sasa... ang sarap magmamili ng perfume and make-up, all original!
3rd Day MACAU- But because of the typhoon which is signal # 8, all trips going to Macau via Turbojet and Cotai jet were canceled! Kaloka!!!! Ang aga namen gumising for this... canceled pla!!! SUSME! Usual question: Do you need a VISA going to Macau from HK? Answer: No need. Just bring your passport.
Directions: 1. Turbojet 3rd level Shun Tak ang Ticket Offices ng ferries to Macau. Alight at Sheung Wan Station, Island Line Take Exit D, go towards ticketing office at 3F of Shun Tak Centre, then go to HK-Macau Ferry Terminal Economy class, Turbojet to Macau - HKD 146 2. Cotaijet Take MTR from TST, Tsuen Wan Line Interchange at Central Station, Island Line Umuwe na lng kame. At dahil walang bukas na shops, nag grocery na lng kame sa Wellcome! We spent the entire day sa loob lng ng hotel. We went out around 6PM to grab sometjing to eat...at paglabas namen... Surprise! Ang dame ng bukas na shops!!!! Kahit umuulan...deadma! Explore the city ang drama!
4th Day OCEAN PARK- Opens @ 10AM Price: Adult 208HKD; Child 103HKD;
Directions: MTR- Go to Admiratly station (I forgot which exit) Then, take Bus # 629. Admission tickets are also available at the Citybus Route 629 Terminal. Pag exit mo ng Admiralty Station going to Ocean Park, may ticketing booth dun agad. Expenses: MTR from TST to Admiralty - HKD 7.7 (charged to Octopus card) Citybus 629 - HKD 10.6 (charged to Octopus card) OP ticket - HKD 185
Tip: You can buy discounted Disney and OP ticket at Traveleasy LTD shop: 316, 3/f Worldwide Plaza 19 Des, Wovex Rd Central. For Pear\k Days: OP- 170HKD, DISNEY- 320KHD
GETTING AROUND HONGKONG Tip: You may opt NOT take a cab, because they charge like they'll eat your entire shoping budget. I'm exaggerating, okay. HK has the most easiest and one of the most convinient transpo system in the world. Ask anyone who's been in HK, they'll say that even a 7 year-old won't get lost. For as long as you can read, you're safe.
MTR- They don't have cashiers/counters that sells train tickets, but they do have a Customer service booth. Each station is equipped with a DIY (Do-It-Yourself) ticketing machine. BUS- You can use your Octopus Card. Just swipe it. Or you also can pay in cash. Just make sure you have the exact amount though as they don't give change. TAXI/CAB- We didn't take a cab. So I don't have any tips to share.
OTHERS - When buying for bottled water, get Bonaqua in 7/11 stores sold for 4HKD, 12HKD and 16HKD depending on the size. Other brands are quite expensive for a bottled water. - If you're used to eat in an authentic chinese restos, then you wouldn't mind eating elasewhere as there are a lot of big and small chinese restos in every corner. Mura ang tinda nila. But if you're not used to it, because you find the smell (I can't describe it), there are Mcdonalds and KFC almost everywhere, oh and Yoshinoya too, where you can get a rice bowl for as low as 16-17 HKD with drinks. - To get good exchange rate, go to Wing Hoi Money Changer in TST. Address: Ground flr, Mirador Mansion Nathan Rd. TST Kowloon.

| | Here's one hell of a trip!
AIRFARE (TERMINAL 3 & CEBUPACIFIC) Let me start my kwento by saying how much NAIA Terminal 3 looks pretty darn good! But here's the catch. Since Cebupacific is so irritatingly excited about moving their domestic and international flights to Terminal 3, there were a lot of uncontrolled situations which turned out to be a major disaster. Looking at how they ran the flight schedules, airplane parking area, departure bridge/tube, check-in counters, staff/crews grounds or whatever they call it, they looked like they're trying to find a needle in a haystack, not even knowing what they're doing!!!! So unprepared! All crap of bull shit rolled into one! Am I exaggerating waaayyyyy to much??? Try to google search other blogs about Cebupacific flights in Terminal 3. I bet you'll get back to me saying I still even sound nice and fair with all my ranting.
Anyway, I'm still glad there's Cebupac. Because I'd rather not see PAL do the monopoly again, just like how it was back in the days of F. Ramos where an average Pinoy can't travel in and out of the country because of pricey airfare! Basta ang point is na delayed flight namen. Kakainis! Tagal namen naghintay. Tapos may iba pang mas delayed ang flight, it only means that they really rushed into its transition to T3... lack of preparations talga... sobrang mga atachiba!

| | How I spent my 27th birthday:
1. We were in the middle of our sleep, when our maid yelled: “Nize, gising…may bisita ka!” I immediately got out of bed with my empty brain saying: “Lagot ka, may bisita ka wala ka man lang handa..” When I stepped out of our room, I was surprised and really happy to see that my lola, Mama Vi with our family driver Kuya Tony, were in the living room carrying a Baliwag lechon manok and chicharon bag. And before I even ask where my mom, bros and sis are, Mama Vi read my thoughts and said: “Wala sila. Kame lang. Punta kasi kame Pasay, tapos balik ulet QC.” And then she handed me her gift. It was a GC from Bioessence! Taray ni Lola, mag-spa daw kame mag asawa!
2. I was worried that I don’t have anything prepared. I was thinking of ordering a Pizza or from Mcdo. Then I heard my mother-in-law asked our maid to bring out the spaghetti. “Ano! May spaghetti ako???!” My mother-in-law cooked spaghetti for me! See that, I have the best mother-in-law in the world!!!
3. I love surprises! My husband is not the type who’s a huge fan of giving surprises, but he sure knows how to make one. Last year he gave me a watch, this year he surprised me with a book! I’ve been asking him if he has prepared another surprise gift for me, he just shrugged his shoulder, raised his eye browse and said in a sarcastic tone: “Asa ka naman na may regalo ako sayo! Eh wala naman akong pera!” Then I told myself: “Ay oo nga naman. Nasa akin pla lahat ng pera. Hahaha!” Here’s the big act- Jigs and I were emptying our plates while having a very nice conversation about Kim Sam Soon local version; he stood up and left the table without saying a word. When he got back, he was holding a purple, rectangular with fancy violet ribbon sorta-like-a-box-thingy. He placed it in front of me and said: “Happy Birthday Engki.” Ay, may gift pala asawa ko… I hurriedly yet carefully ripped the fancy purple wrapper (sayang kasi). To my delight he knew what I want…. It was the 3rd book in the Twilight novel series…or so I thought… because when I looked at the cover page, it says New Moon (2nd Book) which I already have. I hugged Engki and whispered to his ear: “Baby, thanks sa gift ha, kaya lang meron nako nitong 2nd book eh.” Then I saw the horror and dismay on his face. So I said: “Okay lang un, na-appreciate ko naman eh. Tawag na lang tayo Powerbooks. We went to ATC Powerbooks around 7:30PM and had the book exchanged. It went pretty fast and easy.
We had dinner at Sophia’s Mediterranean Restaurant at Alabang West Gate. The place gives you that warm and welcoming feeling- cozy, sophisticated yet simple. We had Pupmkin soup, Gambas, Beef Estofado and Turkish Thigh Chicken. Jigs ordered Baileys while I enjoy every bite of Tiramisu! While having dinner, we were serenaded with guitar acoustics. First they sang Happy Birthday in a light jazzy kinda-way. Then was followed by songs from Frank Sinatra, Nearness Of You and Something Stupid.
What a way to celebrate my 27th birthday!

27- 28, 29, 30! Wait! That's 3 short years and guess what....I'm 30! This can't be happening. The last time I checked I was riding an FX on my home from school. The smell of Intramuros is still fresh and the sound of traffic in España still makes me feel harassed. Could this be an epiphany? A dream? A dejavu? Or just plain self-denial that I'm getting older? In my 27 years of existence in this cruel world, where we live in a dog-eat-dog society, what have I accomplished so far? Whatever happens to my goals? Were there even any to start with? Questions behind questions, the famous QBQ! Why did I even bother to start asking myself about them? 10 years have passed and it seems like I haven't gotten really far. My urge to go above and beyond before I reach the age of 30 has become more intense as I'm 3 short steps away. It's funny whenever I hear my friends say how nice it is to be 30! The thought that I'll be 30 soon scares me. Although 3 years is still a long way to go, I know that at the strike of 12 o'clock, July 05, 2011 things will not be the same. So I thought of coming up with my 10 I will's before I turn to 30: - I will learn how to cook.
- I will take bungee jumping.
- I will go to Egypt.
- I will weigh 105 lbs.
- I will have a mini library at home.
- I will buy a summer house in Baguio or Tagaytay.
- I will promote all my staff.
- I will finish writing my stories and get it published.
- I will be a Manager.
- I will have a baby.
Being 27 and close to 30 might scare me, but I have to admit that I'm also excited! As what my friends would say- "Being 30 is a powerful age that comes with grace, elegance and beauty." So, Happy Birthday to me! I'm 27! Intrigued, curious, mesmerized, are some of the words that best describe why I started reading this novel. I've been itching my feet to go to Power Books to get a copy the moment I heard from my sister-in-law, Anne, that this book is a must-have. First thing I did was went online and search for its cover page. That's when I said: "Di pwedeng hindi ko sha mabasa, cover pa lang...astig na!" I went ahead to read some more reviews and I was surprised to know that the author of the book, Stephanie Meyer is known to be the next J.K Rowling! Okay, so what kind of appeal does this book brings? If you want teenage-drama with a twist, better get yourself a copy. Every chapter brings you to a greater hype of appreciating teenage-melodramatic love stories that's something way out of the ordinary. This isn't like your-usual-vampire story with all the horror and gore in it. Its light and smooth appeal makes you turn page after page. If you're a guy you'd say: "Gusto ko na maging Vampire, para astig!" And I bet half of the women who have read this would say: "Ang sarap mag mahal ng isang Vampire." Agree? I don't know. But that's what I felt after I finished Book 1. Then here starts my addiction to the book series. I just can't wait for the next one! . And just like those other best selling novels, a movie is on the works! Just an advise: Make sure to buy all three books at the same time, so you won't feel like you just want to go over the cliff and jump because you've been dying to know what will happen next. I heard that Book 4-Breaking Dawn is coming out this August. Mga pa keme pa kame.. gusto naman talga nameng sumayaw.
The party was dominated by the BNY Mellon MLA Team. In ACS they call us STA account.
